RECRUITMENT CONDITIONS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2027/2028

General Information

Recruitment for studies for the academic year 2027/2028 is conducted by the Recruitment Committee with the support of the IT system – Online Candidate Recruitment (IRK).

Admissions are divided into rounds. If the number of students accepted remains below the maximum number of students established by the Senate, an additional round of admissions may be conducted. The decision to conduct an additional round rests with the Rector.

Recruitment for studies starting in the winter semester of the 2027/2028 academic year starts on May 25, 2027 and ends no later than October 28, 2027.

Recruitment for studies starting in the summer semester of the 2027/2028 academic year runs from January 10, 2028 to March 29, 2028.

Fields of study

Recruitment for the 2027/2028 academic year will be conducted in the following fields:

Uniform Master's studies:
– Preschool and early school education (full-time and part-time)

First-cycle studies, bachelor's degree:
1) public administration and social communication (full-time and part-time)
2) internal security (full-time and part-time)
3) dietetics (full-time and part-time)
4) English Philology (full-time)
5) Finance and Accounting (full-time and part-time)

PLEASE NOTE: A course will be launched once the minimum number of people declaring their willingness to study in a given course has been reached.

The decision to launch a given field of study is made by the Rector after the recruitment round is completed or after the minimum number of candidates for the field has been accepted.

A person may be admitted to the recruitment process if:
  • has a certificate "new high school leaving exam" or "old high school leaving exam" or a secondary school leaving certificate obtained abroad entitling to apply for admission to a higher education institution – in the case of candidates applying for admission to first-cycle studies or long-cycle master’s studies or another document specified in art. 69 section 2 points 4-7 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended),
  • It has bachelor's degree, Master's degree, engineer and/ or equivalent – in the case of a candidate applying for admission to second-cycle studies,
  • registered in the IRK electronic system, available on the University's website, during the electronic recruitment period,
  • made the required floss,
  • submitted a complete set of required documents during the period of receipt of documents,
  • submitted a complete set of required documents during the additional recruitment period.

WARNING!

Additional documents required for the fields of internal security, dietetics, early school and preschool education, nursing, emergency medical services and physical education:

  • medical certificate – stating that there are no contraindications to studying in these fields must be confirmed by occupational medicine doctor.

We encourage you to obtain referrals to an occupational medicine physician in advance.

The referral will be automatically generated in the IRK system within three business days from the date of registration for a given course.

If the referral does not appear in the system, please write to the following address regarding the issuance of a referral for a medical examination: rekrutacja@uczelniaoswiecim.edu.pl 

Before your doctor's appointment, please confirm whether the facility where you plan to undergo testing accepts a scanned copy of the referral or the original document. If an original is required, please visit the University, room 2.09, Collegium Primum building.

  • certificate from the National Criminal Register – information from the National Criminal Register regarding crimes specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code and the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) or for prohibited acts corresponding to these crimes specified in the provisions of foreign law.

Due to the legal obligation arising from the Act of 13 May 2016 on Counteracting Threats of Sexual Crime and the Protection of Minors (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 560), candidates for studies at the recruitment stage or before starting studies or before starting classes in the year academic year 2025/2026 (i.e. before October 1, 2025 in the case of full-time students and before September 27, 2024 in the case of part-time students), are obliged to deliver them to the secretariat of the institute where a given field of study is conducted, information from the National Criminal Register regarding specific crimes in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) or for prohibited acts corresponding to these crimes specified in the provisions of law alien.

3) English Philology;
4) first-degree nursing;
5) second-degree nursing;

When submitting an application for a certificate from the National Criminal Register at a district court or via the website, the following text should be entered in the section concerning the data to be the subject of information about the person when submitting the application: in the scope of crimes specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Penal Code, in Article 189a and Article 207 of the Penal Code and in the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939) or for prohibited acts corresponding to these crimes specified in the provisions of foreign law.

Point converters

For high school graduates with the so-called "old high school leaving examination" – taken before 2005, the following point conversion rates apply:

perfect 100 points
very good 85 points
good 70 points
satisfactory 50 points
allowing 30 points

In the registration form in the IRK system, you must enter the result of the written part of the Matura exam; points are calculated automatically according to the above-mentioned principle.

People who passed the "new high school leaving exam in the years 2005 - 2025 at the basic level, they receive a number of points in these examination subjects equal to the number of percent.

People who passed the "new high school leaving exam in the years 2005 – 2025 at the advanced level, they receive additional points in these examination subjects, according to the following principle:

100% – 80% – 30 points
79% – 60% – 20 points
59% – 40% – 10 points

People who took the "new Matura" at the advanced level in the years 2005 - 2025 enter the result obtained in the registration form, regardless of the exam level; additional points according to the above-mentioned rule, in the case of passing the exam at the advanced level, are calculated automatically.

DETAILED conditions of recruitment for individual positions fields of study for the academic year 2027/2028

For FIRST-CYCLE study programmes: 

public administration and social communication, internal security, dietetics, nursing, emergency medical services, physical education – the sum of the number of points obtained by the candidate in the two highest-scoring subjects in the secondary school leaving examination is taken into account.

In the case of direction Emergency medical services Passing the high school leaving examination in biology will be rewarded with an additional 10 points in the qualification procedure.

Qualification procedure for candidates applying for admission to binternal security, dietetics, nursing, emergency medical services, physical education also includes: assessment of health condition and ability to undertake studies, confirmed by a medical certificate issued by an occupational medicine physician, based on a referral for examination issued by the University.

Candidate predispositions for the field of public administration and social communication:

  1. basic knowledge of social sciences and general knowledge of social, political and economic life;
  2. ability and willingness to develop social communication;
  3. understanding and ability to analyze phenomena related to the functioning of public institutions.

Candidate predispositions for the internal security major:

  1. resistance to stress;
  2. no fear of heights or water;
  3. ability to work in a team;
  4. responsibility;
  5. ability to concentrate for long periods of time;
  6. situational awareness.

Predispositions of a candidate for the dietetics program:

  1. very good health;
  2. predisposition to work in a team;
  3. interests related to culinary topics;
  4. basic knowledge of healthy eating.

Predispositions of a candidate for the field of nursing:

  1. good physical fitness;
  2. predisposition to work in a team;
  3. ability to work in stressful and emergency situations;
  4. very good health.

Candidate predispositions for the field of emergency medical services:

  1. basic knowledge of first aid
  2. good physical fitness, predisposition to work in a team and the ability to work in stressful and emergency situations;
  3. decisiveness and ability to make decisions.
  4. awareness that the priority at work will be to help every person in need.

Candidate's predispositions for the Physical Education major:

  1. very good health;
  2. good physical fitness;
  3. sports-related interests.

English Philology – the sum of the number of points obtained in the exam is taken into account from English and the number of points from the highest-scoring subject in the secondary school leaving examination.

Candidate predispositions for English Philology:

  1. willingness to work independently, including reading in English;
  2. humanities interests;
  3. interest in translation or the language of business and tourism.

Foreigners are required to have knowledge of Polish at B2 level.

finance and accounting – the sum of the number of points obtained in the secondary school leaving examination in mathematics and the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring subject in the secondary school leaving examination are taken into account.

Candidate predispositions for the Finance and Accounting major:

  1. analytical skills;
  2. math skills;
  3. knowledge of technology – ability to use IT tools;
  4. interest in finance – financial markets, investments and economic mechanisms.

resocialization pedagogy The total number of points obtained in the Polish language Matura exam and the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring Matura exam subject are taken into account. Passing the Matura exam in History or Biology/Science, Technology, and Society will be rewarded with an additional 10 points added to the total.

Candidate’s predispositions for the field of resocialization pedagogy:

  1. basic knowledge of the humanities and social sciences;
  2. ability and willingness to develop in the field of social sciences;
  3. understanding and ability to analyze pedagogical and psychological phenomena.

Management – the sum of the number of points obtained in the matriculation examination in a foreign language and the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring subject in the matriculation examination are taken into account.

Candidate's predispositions for management:

  1.  analytical skills and strategic thinking;
  2. organizational skills;
  3. knowledge of technology – ability to use IT tools;
  4. interest in the business world, market trends and organizational management.
For first-cycle engineering studies: 

renewable energy and energy management – The total number of points obtained in the Matura exam in one of the following subjects is taken into account: mathematics, physics, or chemistry, as well as the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring Matura exam subject. Passing the Matura exam in computer science will be rewarded in the qualification process with an additional 10 points added to the total.

Candidate predispositions for the field of renewable energy and energy management:

  1. basic knowledge of science or technology;
  2. ability and willingness to develop in the field of technical sciences;
  3. understanding and ability to analyze phenomena related to issues related to the area of ​​technical solutions.

information technology - the sum of the number of points obtained in the Matura exam in one of the subjects: computer science, mathematics or physics and the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring subject in the Matura exam is taken into account.

Candidate predispositions for computer science:

  1. mathematical abilities;
  2. interest in computer science and its applications;
  3. interests related to technology and its development;
  4. interest in programming and control;
  5. ability to think logically.

mechatronics  the sum of the number of points obtained in the Matura exam in one of the following subjects is taken into account: mathematics, computer science, physics or chemistry and the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring subject in the Matura exam.

Candidate predispositions for the mechatronics major:

  1. interest in science or technology subjects;
  2. interests related to technology and its development;
  3. interest in programming and control;
  4. interests in automation and robotization.

management and production engineering – the sum of the number of points obtained in the Matura exam in one of the following subjects is taken into account: mathematics, computer science, physics or chemistry and the number of points obtained by the candidate in the highest-scoring subject in the Matura exam.

Candidate predispositions for the field of management and production engineering:

  1. interest in economic and technical subjects;
  2. interest in the functioning of organizations and economic entities;
  3. interests related to technology and its development;
  4. ability to work in a team;
  5. openness to new challenges.
For the SECOND-CYCLE MASTER'S degree programmes: 

internal security – The basis for applying for admission is a first-cycle diploma or a second-cycle diploma. Admission is based on the grade on the diploma. If the number of applicants exceeds the available places, an additional criterion will be the grade point average. Furthermore, completion of a first-cycle degree program in Internal Security or Public Administration and Social Communication will be awarded an additional point in the qualification process, added to the total points.

The qualification process for candidates applying for admission to the Internal Security major will also include an assessment of health and fitness to undertake studies, confirmed by a medical certificate issued by an occupational medicine physician, based on a referral for examination issued by the University.

Candidate's predispositions for the Internal Security major:

  1. basic knowledge of social sciences and general knowledge of social, political and economic life;
  2. ability and willingness to develop towards internal security;
  3. understanding and ability to analyze phenomena related to the functioning of public institutions, especially in the context of public service officials.

nursing – The basis for applying for admission is a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Admission is based on the grade on the diploma. If the number of applicants exceeds the available places, an additional criterion will be the grade point average (GPA) for the entire course of study.

The qualification process for candidates applying for admission to the nursing program will also include an assessment of health and fitness to undertake studies, confirmed by a medical certificate issued by an occupational medicine physician.

Predispositions of a candidate for the field of nursing:

  1. good physical fitness;
  2. predisposition to work in a team;
  3. ability to work in stressful and emergency situations;
  4. very good health.

Production Management and Engineering – The basis for applying for admission is a first-cycle engineering diploma with a professional title of engineer. Admission is determined by the grade on the diploma. If the number of applicants exceeds the available places, an additional criterion will be the grade point average for the entire course of study.

Candidate predispositions for the field of management and production engineering:

  1. interest in managerial issues;
  2. basic knowledge of management and production engineering;
  3. ability to work in a team;
  4. ability to think analytically.
For the ONE-STANDARD MASTER'S degree programs: 

preschool and early school pedagogy – the sum of the number of points obtained by the candidate in the two highest-scoring subjects in the secondary school leaving examination is taken into account.

The qualification procedure for candidates applying for admission to the field of preschool and early school education will also include an assessment of health and ability to undertake studies, confirmed by a medical certificate issued by an occupational medicine physician.

Candidate predispositions for the field of preschool and early school pedagogy:

  1. basic knowledge of the humanities and social sciences;
  2. communication skills and ability to work in a team;
  3. predisposition to work with children aged 3-10;
  4. understanding and ability to analyze pedagogical and psychological phenomena.

"INTERNATIONAL" BACCALAUREATE

Regulations regarding the admission of candidates with an "International Baccalaureate" diploma to studies.

For candidates who have passed the International Baccalaureate, the following conversion of the grades from the secondary school leaving certificate into points is established:
