ACADEMIC CAREER OFFICE
Activity
The Academic Career Office began its operations in 2012 by implementing a university project entitled: Professional fate of graduates. ABK is currently incorporated into the structure of the Department of Teaching and Student Affairs.
The Academic Career Office is a unit working for the professional activation of students and graduates of the Małopolska State University named after Captain W. Pilecki in Oświęcimyes.
ABK is responsible for the following tasks:
1. providing students and graduates of higher education with information about the labor market and opportunities to improve professional qualifications,
2. collecting and sharing job, internship and apprenticeship offers submitted by employers and other institutions,
3. monitoring the professional careers of graduates at least once after completing higher education,
4. searching for employers where graduates and/or students can complete an internship with the possibility of possible employment.
The primary goal of ABK is to monitor the professional careers of its graduates. In 2012, a research project was launched. Professional careers of graduates, The aim of the study is to understand how graduates' professional careers are shaping up, taking into account whether they are pursuing employment consistent with their field of study and the usefulness of the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired during their studies. The study is confidential.
Partnerships
I.
The university has signed an agreement with the Voivodeship Labor Office in Krakow regarding cooperation in researching the professional careers of university graduates. Furthermore, the cooperation also includes the provision of:
– studies and reports related to the current situation on the labor market in the Małopolska Voivodeship,
– information about training, job fairs and development opportunities for graduates and unemployed people,
– news about projects financed from public funds.

The Academic Career Office cooperates with the District Employment Office in Oświęcimiu, which is an important unit supporting the activities of the Office – PUP provides the necessary content regarding various types of implemented programs, organized trainings and courses.

A cooperation agreement has been signed with three state vocational universities in Małopolska:
• State Higher Vocational School in Tarnów,
• State Higher Vocational School in Nowy Sącz,
• Podhale State Vocational University in Nowy Targ.
The primary goal of this collaboration is to ensure a high level of education for students at all four universities in Małopolska. This collaboration includes joint activities between career offices in the following areas:
– conducting research on the demand for specific competencies on the labor market,
– organizing equal forms of training to improve competences,
– joint application for external funds to improve the quality of career office activities.
ABK employees are involved in partnership exchanges within the Erasmus+ programme, which provides for the educational mobility of students (including academic staff).
Obtaining and sharing job offers
All job offers, internships, training, and information about job fairs organized throughout Poland are made available to students and graduates.
