Consultations regarding students with special educational needs:
People with disabilities or those living in families with a disability have specific needs related to continuing and deepening their education. These needs stem from the need to reduce barriers or create special conditions for freely accessing educational opportunities. Therefore, they are defined as special educational needs.

Student support
Support for students with special needs:
Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki State University of Małopolska in OświęcimThe IU funds activities from a budget subsidy aimed at creating conditions for students with special needs, including those with disabilities, to fully participate in the educational process. Support is provided exclusively in non-monetary form, in the form of providing specific services to students with special needs.
A person with special needs is someone who has a long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairment, which, in interaction with various barriers, may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. People with special needs include those with a disability degree certificate or an appropriate certificate, as well as those without a certificate, including: people with chronic illnesses, people experiencing a mental health crisis, people with specific learning difficulties, and people on the autism spectrum. The duration of impairment is understood in relation to the educational process, ongoing research, etc. The duration of impairment also includes the expected duration of the impairment.
Detailed rules for supporting people with special needs are set out in Regulations on the granting of support and spending of subsidies for tasks related to creating conditions for students with special needs, including persons with disabilities, to fully participate in the process of admission to studies, education during studies and conducting scientific activities at the Malopolska State University named after Captain Witold Pilecki in Oświęcimyes.
A student-friendly university
Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki State University of Małopolska in Oświęcimiu cares about every student. It strives not only to provide a high standard of education and comfortable learning conditions, but also to provide technical assistance for those with special needs in accessing education.
All University facilities are adapted to the needs of individuals with special needs. These include designated and marked parking spaces, specially adapted corridors, modern restrooms, and elevators for transportation between floors. The Library features a dedicated computer station with appropriate equipment for visually impaired users (a room prepared for individual work).
The university undertakes various activities aimed at providing equal educational opportunities for individuals with special needs. These activities include:
• changes in legal regulations,
• financial support (scholarships for disabled people and allowances),
• assistance of the Rector's Representative for Students with Special Needs in solving individual problems of people with special needs,
• support of Educational Consultants,
• purchase of specialist equipment and software to facilitate education for people with various health disabilities,
• participation in conferences, trainings and courses on topics related to the problems and issues of people with special needs.
